La interrelación entre la innovación abierta y la capacidad de absorciónun estudio en empresas españolas de alta tecnología

Resumen

Este artículo contempla un estudio realizado en un conjunto de empresas de media-alta y alta tecnología españolas (mayoritariamente del País Vasco), en las que se analiza la relación existente entre los procesos de innovación abierta y la capacidad de absorción. En concreto, se examina la influencia que el grado de apertura del proceso innovador ejerce en los resultados de la innovación incremental y radical, así como el rol moderador que la capacidad de absorción de conocimiento tecnológico externo desempeña en esta relación. Los resultados del estudio muestran que el grado de apertura del proceso innovador influye de forma importante y positiva en los resultados de la innovación incremental, y de forma negativa en el caso de la innovación radical. Por otra parte, se comprueba que las empresas con una elevada capacidad de absorción obtienen mejores frutos de la innovación radical desarrollada en cooperación, pero no así en el caso de la innovación incremental.
