Género y actividad exportadora de los emprendedores en España

Resumen

En este estudio se analiza la influencia del género en la propensión a exportar y la intensidad de exportación de los emprendedores, así como las diferencias que existen entre hombres y mujeres en cuanto a los determinantes de exportación. Para ello se emplea una muestra de 1.247 emprendedores españoles a partir de los datos del proyecto GEM de los años 2005 y 2006. Los resultados muestran que, una vez controladas otras características, no hay diferencias entre hombres y mujeres en cuanto a la propensión a exportar, pero sí en cuanto a la intensidad de exportación. Asimismo, se observa que algunos determinantes de exportación significativos para los hombres no lo son para las mujeres y viceversa.
