Abstract
This study analises the motivation of future Infant and Primary Education teachers towards the learning of English as an L3, in a bilingual context. Furthermore, the study examines the possible effect of variables such as age, gender, L1, and self-perception of language competence in the students’ motivation. Results show that students hold a positive motivation and that their selfperception of language competence exerts a positive influence. Additionally, the learning context is the motivating factor that explains the higher percentage of the variance.
