Abstract
This doctoral thesis aims to study the narrative of the young generation of Mexican female writers which includes Valeria Luiselli, Fernanda Melchor, Brenda Lozano, Laia Jufresa and Verónica Gerber Bicecci. The thesis is based on a heterogeneity of theoretical thoughts that starts from the proto-feminist reflections of Virginia Woolf and Simone de Beauvoir, and focuses on the contradictory discussions about sexual identity between Luce Irigaray and Judith Butler, to arrive at the decolonial turn of Latin America in which, based on the contributions of Spivak and Aníbal Quijano, María Lugones formulates the coloniality of gender. The latter is intrinsically linked to the phenomenon of feminicide in Mexico, where Marcela Lagarde and Rista Segato emphasize misogyny and impunity. From there, the thesis approaches the cross-border narrations, violence and resistance in the narrative of young female writers. Through polyphonic structures that cross different borders, such as those between the fictional and the archival, the unusual and the ordinary, the earthly and the spiritual, the sensory and the affective, as well as the verbal and the visual, the writers create stories where a variety of violence overflows: State violence, gender violence, epistemic violence, and violence from exile etc. Faced with the violence that annihilates and eradicates, the writers propose resistance as the only way out, be it the act of documenting and bearing witness, the creation of an aesthetic of abjection, the return to pre-Hispanic roots, or the hybrid writing. This young generation of Mexican female writers have intended to resist with words, whose subversive power heralds a promising future to come
