Abstract

Objective: This paper aims to analyze the psychosocial and family situation of siblings of children who have undergone a cancer process. Method: qualitative research was conducted through in-depth interviews with five siblings who had faced a sibling's cancer in their childhood or adolescence. Results: The healthy siblings felt in the background after their sibling's childhood cancer diagnosis. Although there are repercussions in all areas of life, the emotional area and relationships with parents are the most affected, with damage persisting in the long term. Conclusions: the results obtained highlight the need for specific interventions with the siblings of children with cancer lo help them understand the disease process and to avoid medium and long-term damage.
