Abstract

The aim of this work was to compare the effect of fertilization, organic (OR) or chemical (QU), on agroecosystemhealth using the "Agroecosystem Health Cards" evaluating the effect of treatments on forage production, conservation ofbiodiversity and soil and the fight against climate change in a maize forage crop. No differences in dry matter production ornutritive value were observed, except a higher starch content in maize with chemical fertilization, probably due to a lowerdevelopment in the OR treatment a result of competition with the weeds. The overall diagnosis of agroecosystem health wasbetter under organic fertilization than chemical fertilization.
