Abstract
An experimental articulatory description of the velar consonants in Basque is presented, based on the analysis aj a mid-sagittal MRI image set produced by seven speakers. These elements show an appreciable variation in their articulation, focused in both velar and uvular models. In the [k < g < y < x] series a tendency towards a backed articulation is noticed.
