Abstract
This work presents the study of small faunistic remains from Armintxe site (Lekeitio, Bizkaia). The remains were recovered in three areas of the cavity: the Engraving Panel area, the Intermediate Gallery and the entrance area called the Lobby. Samples from the Panel area have turned out to be very rich in number of remains, while the other two are considerably exiguous. In addition, in the Panel area, a shark tooth and gastropod shells that appear from historic to current time periods have been recovered, along with remains of Microtus (Alexandromys) oeconomus. All this in a context that has a medieval dating. Therefore, the remains may come from some surface filtration. The shark tooth could fit well with medieval dating, as it was a species that was highly appreciated at that time. With this work, we would like to pay a small tribute to Mikel Unzueta by the micropaleontologists who have collaborated in so many works promoted by him and in which we have always revived his unconditional help.
