Abstract

Forced or compulsory labour has existed all throughout History and, nowadays, it is still a serious problem around the world. In 1930, the ILO approved the Convention 29 concerning forced labour, an essential instrument regarding the fight against this phenomenon. From these premises, the main purpose of this study consists in analysing the scope of the Convention 29, paying attention also to the update of the Convention by means of the approval of the Convention 105 concerning the abolition of forced labour, of 1957, and the Protocol of 2014 to the Forced Labour Convention
