Abstract

Human trafficking and slavery are ancient practices that still prevail in the current global scenario. The subsistence of these human rights violations demonstrates the urgent need to adoptnew measures to move forward towards their eradication. In this regard, the international com munity has highlighted the significance to involve the private sector within the prevention and fight against trafficking and slavery. On the basis of these premises, this study aims to analyze the scope of the California transparency in supply chains Act in order to conclude whether or not this initiative is optimal to ensure an effective corporate responsibility on this matter.
