Abstract
From the point of view of psychosocial theories about identity, we try to explain different degrees of identification and of implication with the two cultures in contact with each other in the basque context. We differentiate two groups according to the language used to answer the questionnaire, individuals who do their studies in Basque language and answered the questionnaire in this language (group 1) and individuals who do their studies in Spanish language and answered the questionnaire in this language (group 2), in both groups we measured the degree of implication in four aspects of identity (territorial, linguistic, national and cultural). Our objective is to find the different profiles of identity between young Basque people and study the influence of life and study in Basque language or Spanish language on identity. Two different profíles of identity are found according to the Spanish-Basque dimension of the categories used in our study.
