Abstract

University research is demanded a greater responsibility to renew its commitment to the community and contribute to the common good (Goddard et al, 2016), as recalled by international institutions. This article presents an analysis of «university-community engagement», starting from one of the dimensions of this concept: research (Farnell et al, 2020 b). Based on a multiple case study, focusing on six university networks, a content analysis of 83 official documents is carried out. The results show that «engaged research» with the community is considered a bidirectional transformation process that redefines knowledge management in society.
