Resumen

he actual socio-educational context, marked by moments of crisis and uncertainty, needs more than ever an education system that allows an effective and safe approach to the major challenges mainly summarized in the idea of offering an education that trains future citizens with basic life skills and allow them to integrate and contribute to the improvement of society to which they belong. There is no doubt, that to reach this goal the education system requires to deal with different variables which influence and contribute to the achievement of the above. In this way, it is necessary and essential to care for the teaching quality, and specifically, to ensure that obligatory education teachers have the required competences to address this challenge. Through this paper, we present the development and validation of a teaching competences profile in compulsory education that fits the current educational needs. In this way, teaching competences should allow teachers to act effectively not only in the teaching-learning processes that take place in the classroom space, but must overcome this context in order to solve and respond to the different realities and situations that occur in the school in its relation to the different educational agents and about the different roles and tasks involved in teaching activities.
