Abstract

Systems Engineering is a multidisciplinary area of engineering and management that concentrates on how to design and manage complex systems over their lifecycle from inception to disposal. Many related disciplines may be considered closely related to Systems Engineering. One of theIS is Configuration Management which encompasses the technical and administrative activities concerned with the creation, maintenance, controlled change and quality control of the scope of work. Concretely, this work focused on identifying the gaps in the implementation of configuration management in recent leading projects in several of the most competitive industrial sectors worldwide. As a result, this analysis illustrates the growing importance of configuration management techniques in helping accident investigators pinpoint the state of complex systems in the aftermath of negative outcomes.
