Resumen

Hyaluronic acid (AH) is a linear polysaccharide found in the extracellular matrix of all living organisms (ECM). Among all the polymers found in nature AH is the biopolymer which presents the largest number of applications. When this macro-molecule that is biocompatible, non-cytotoxic and biodegradable is synthesized on the nanometric scale, it offers the fascinating possibility of developing nanogels with ex-cellent properties. In this paper we will briefly describe hyaluronic acid and its nano-gels, their synthesis methods, properties and applications, with the intention of making known their potential applications in the field of biomedicine
