Abstract
This paper analyzes the process of revitalization of a particular cultural practice in the region of the Montaña Alavesa; the meeting of Izki Alto communal mountain. The ethnographic example that is discussed in this article is placed within a wider logic; the revival of cultural resources as a strategy for local development and community building. As usual in these cases, objects, practices and speeches are interspersed with other current ones giving the event a postmodern sense.
