Abstract

This article analyzes mobility planning in Vitoria-Gasteiz, a city with a strong commitment to the environment. The analysis addresses the main innovative elements of the Sustainable Mobility and Public Space Plan, emphasizing its impact on the mobility pattern and on re-qualifying the public space. Nevertheless, the analysis points at the limitations of mobility policies, as long as these are not considered as a strategic component of urban planning.
