Since the nineties, there has been an increase in international attention to transitional justice, especially within the framework of the theoretical and practical debates on conflict prevention and peacebuilding. Strikingly, one of the aspects that tends to be left out of the main debates is the influence that gender has on victims' access to truth, justice and reparation after armed conflicts and periods of repression. This is at the heart of feminist critique of transitional justice processes, a critique that is based on research as well as on the promotion of forms of active resistance to impunity for crimes against women.
