Abstract
The emerging rural community in the Alava Mountains celebrates its sense of adscription and belonging by means of the recovery and invention of various traditional elements and festivities. Among them is the Day of the Horse in the Alava Mountains, a leisure-and-recreational party that revolves around one of the most important symbols in this area, which is none other than the mountain mare.
