Abstract

A work based on a volleyball men team that plays in Spanish FEV league is here presented. With this paper we are trying to fix psychological strategies to improve the capacities of attention, concentration and decision taking, the using of routines in the moment of serving in official competitions as a way to improve the effectively of the whole team. We begin with the hypothesis that the uses of routines and techniques of imagined practices (visualization) during the action of serving would improve the effectively of it. Some data of the serving effectively was collected in five different games during the official competition (baseline phase). After that, a phase of intervention (training) was carried away and then, data of the serving effectively was collected again in other five games (results phase). The psychological training effectiveness is analysed and some possible ways of improving the intervention are presented.
