Abstract

The dielectric loss and conductivity of single crystals of yttria-stabilized cubic zirconia (Zr02-9.4 m/o Y2O3) have been studied in the temperature ranges from 20 to 500° C and frequency from 10^ to lO^^Hz. The experimental data have been analyzed using the impedance and modulus spectroscopy method. This complex representation allows the separation of several contributions to the total cell impedance, arising from bulk conduction and interfacial phenomena. The electrical conductivity, which is determined from impedance Cole-Cole plots is thermaly activated and the activation energy changes from 1.19 to 0.93 eV when the temperature increased
