Resumen

The innovation experience presented in this paper is inserted into a student-centered education using active learning methodologies. Previous research has confirmed the usefulness of case studies to link theory and practice, but to increase students‘ motivation and achieve effective intervention proposals, it‘s needed to connect it with the autobiography and work it in more depth. This proposal started with students‘ individual assessment of the case, which was discussed in small groups. Afterwards each student linked his/her individual assessment with his/her autobiography. In a second phase, the debate moved into the whole classroom, and the reflections made helped each student to develop a new individual proposal focused in one of the factors involved in the case. The majority of the students and teachers claimed to have worked better than with traditional methods. Process should be reviewed to avoid repetition, and to improve the connection between the case and educational autobiography. Support material should be also reviewed.
