Resumen

The aim of the study was to analyze the influence of the forearm neuromuscular fatigue in the test Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery 10 m (YYIR1 10 m) performance in wheelchair basketball players (WB). Eleven WB male players participated in this study. All the participants underwent the handgrip test before and after performing the YYIR1 10 m test. The results showed that there was a high association between the variation in the handgrip test and the distance covered in YYIR1 10 m (r = -0.60; ± 0.33, 0.6 / 2.4 / 97.0, very likely) and moderate to maximum heart rate values (r = -0.48; ± 0.39, 2.4 / 6.6 / 90.9, probable) and respiratory perceived exertion (r = -0.39 ; ± 0.42, 5.3 / 11.0 / 83.8, probable). Players who were able to tolerate higher levels of neuromuscular fatigue in the forearm obtained a better performance YYIR1 10 m test.
