Abstract

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and supramolecular metal-organic frameworks (SMOFs) are porous crystalline materials which have become a very sub-stantial field of research over the last years. These materials consist of inorganic nodes (isolated metal atoms or metal clusters) which are linked by organic ligands (organic molecules). Nucleobases are suitable ligands since they provide porous metal-organic materials by means of coordination (MOF) or hydrogen-bonding interactions (SMOF).
