Resumen

Lately the interest on the geodiversity, the Geological Heritage and its conservation has increased notably. However, there is not a consensus about a methodology to map geosites, and less, a methodology to delimit its affection area, since many geosites may be susceptible to actuations out of its limits. The importance of this problematics increases in geosites related to active hidro/geomorphologic processes, which one of them are the karstic systems. In this work, by means of geosite analysis of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, we propose a methodology to establish the affection area of geosites in karstic systems, which is based on the geosite type (caves –endokarst-, exokarst, and spring and swallow holes) andits hydrogeological activity.
