Abstract

Inorganic-metalorganic hybrid compounds based on the interaction between polyoxometalates and transition metal coordination compounds is one of the most interesting field in polyoxometalates chemistry. The attachment of chiral metalorganic frameworks in POM backbones could be a strategic route to generate new compounds by combining both building blocks. The development of such compounds, appear as a creative alternative for obtaining materials with unusual features and properties. This work contains, the chemical, structural and magnetical characterization, of 32 new hybrid extended compounds. They are based on Keggin type polyanions with the general formula of [XW12O40]4¿ [X= Si, Ge] and [XW11O39Cu(H2O)]n¿ [(X=Si and Ge (n=6) and P (n=5)] decorated with Cu(II) complexes of N,O-chelating lingands: 2-pyridine carboxylate, 2-pyrazine carboxylate, 4-pyrimidine carboxylate or 3-pyridazine carboxylate. Moreover, two different studies based on single-crystal to single-crystal (SCSC) transformations promoted by dehydration processes have been followed by single crystal X-ray diffraction and by Electron Paramagnetic Resonance.
