Abstract

The aim of this paper is to show the Carl Rogers’s work, and the impact it has on the international scene of current psychotherapy. We propose that his work and the concept of empathy had not «entered» actually in Spain. The knowledge that exists in Spain, when compared with today international development and impact, is superficial and anecdotal. To address this point, we assessed the presence of Rogers’s work in our geographic context, using some prevalence rates used in previous international reviews. These are: a) publications that deals with Rogers or his work; b) Professional Organizations, Training Institutes and Journals on the «Client-Centered Therapy / Person-Centered» (CCT/PCT). The data obtained allow to highlight the absence ofthe work of Rogers and his contributions on empathy that exists in Spain, this being today a fundamental source for conceptualization, research and practice of psychotherapy.
