Resumen
The purpose of this inquiry was to examine the meaning and the effects of physical activity on imprisoned women. Symbolic interaction has been the core idea of the methodology and the experiences of five ex-convict women from Gipuzkoa and Araba in 2014, have been gathered and analyzed by using the data they provided in a thorough interview. The output of this inquiry shows that practicing physical activity is important for incarcerated women and that it significantly affects many different levels; for instance, physical activity helped these women fill the time with tasks, flee from the routine of prison or it meant a support to go on.
