Abstract
The phenomenon of social participation, driven by the rise of new technologies, has posed a new scenario and new questions for museum professionals and theorists. For many of them, participation has become a pillar of the new paradigm of the 21st century, in which co-creation plays a fundamental role. However, the terminology surrounding participation in the arts is in a state of flux and both the concept of participation and that of co-creation are ambiguous and the uses and interpretations granted to them are multiple. Based on an extensive literature review, this article reflects on the relationship between museum and co-creation.
