Zusammenfassung
The concept of social capital is a sample of the contribution of contemporary social science to the field of public health. Although social capital has been defined in many different ways, it refers generically to the inst¡tutions, social relationships, and norms embedded in the social structure that shape the quality and quantity of social interactions in a society, allowing the population to coordinate action for ihe achievement of desired goals. This type of capital can be thought of as the social glue.
