La profundización en la dimensión social de la UEM post-crisisel pilar europeo de Derechos sociales

Résumé

This article deals the last steps taken in the social deepening of the European Union after the crisis; in particular, it looks at the meaning of the approval of the European Pillar of Social Rights in November 2017. With the aim of assessing the contribution of this new instrument to respond to the EU's social problems, we examine, first, the economic, social and legislative determinants that explain the emergence and meaning of the Pillar. Second, its main characteristics are highlighted, in connection with its objectives, legal form and competences. Finally, the system foreseen for its implementation and supervision in the Member States through the European Semester is analysed.
