Resum

The Clash of the Bandos is undoubtedly the most representative phenomenon of the Late Medieval Basque Country. Bilbao, as the most important town of the Lordship of Bizkaia, was also the scene of several clashes between local lineages. This article aims to analyze on one hand the general features of the factional violence in the Late Medieval Bilbao, focusing attention on a concrete example of private war, in order to observe its regulation, development and own dynamics. On the other hand, the supre-urban performance of the lineages from Bilbao and possible forms of relationship with their counterparts in the countryside will be analyzed.
