Resumo

This work deals with the issue of family business innovation management, specifically studying the internal key factors that determine the capacity innovation. In the first place, a review of the literature is made, both of the concept of business innovation and of the internal organizational factors that determine innovation. In a second stage, the results of the review are compared with in-depth interviews with experts in order to give a greater robustness to the research before conducting a survey that was applied to small and medium-sized business families. In addition, a theoretical framework on innovation in family enterprises is proposed, which clarifies some key concepts. A survey model is presented to evaluate the internal factors of the innovation capacity of family firms. Finally, the results of the survey applied to 127 business families and a quantitative analysis of them, as well as conclusions and final recommendations for future research, are shared.
